Aaron Murphy
Founder + Principal Designer
Aaron is a leading member of the Eastern Iowa design community whose projects reflect a collaborative relationship between function and form, client and designer. With a decade of experience, he draws design inspiration from a variety of sources - art, travel, nature, and architecture. Aaron builds relationships with each collaboration, and his clientele resonates with a passion for integrity and beauty. An Eastern Iowa native, Aaron is deeply committed to the Cedar Rapids community, serving and working closely with Cedar Rapids Tourism, Planned Parenthood of Eastern Iowa, Theatre Cedar Rapids, Foundation 2, and Daybreak Rotary.
Between managing the day-to-day operations of the studio, you'll find Aaron playing golf, shopping for vintage furnishings, or entertaining guests with his husband at their home.
Jess Reichart
Office Manager
Jess joined the Aaron Murphy Interiors team after spending ten years in professional office management in both the public and private sectors. After years of organizing and decorating homes as a hobby, the interior design world was an easy transition. Between managing sales orders, shipping logistics, installation coordination, invoicing, and payroll services, Jess runs the office like a fine-tuned machine. She even managed to organize our sample library - something every interior designer struggles with!
When not in the office, Jess enjoys spending time with her husband, two cats, family, and friends at their home in Iowa City. She also enjoys a vast array of music, gardening, anything nature, yoga, writing, traveling, and anything related to the Bee Gees. We admire her knack for understanding our clients and their needs with kindness and a quirky sense of humor.
Katelyn Johns
Junior Interior Designer
Katelyn is a talented young interior designer with a passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces that seamlessly blend modern, mid-century, and traditional styles. She has a keen eye for detail and a talent for incorporating unique elements into her designs, adding a touch of unexpected flair that makes each space truly special. Katelyn graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in interior design, giving her a deep understanding of the latest design trends and techniques. Katelyn’s commitment to excellence ensures her designs are always stunning and functional, whether working on a large-scale new home build or a small one-room remodel.
When not in the office, Katelyn enjoys a variety of activities such as reading, painting, baking, and shopping. She also values quality time with her friends and family.
